March 26 - Community Social Services Walk in Victoria

On Saturday, March 26, the Community Social Services Matter campaign organized a walk and rally in Victoria in support of community social services, and to raise awareness about the vital role these services play in our communities.

Welcoming remarks were provided by Michael "Mickey" Cook of the Namgis First Nation (Alert Bay Region). The featured speaker was His Worship Dean Fortin, Mayor of Victoria.

The walk included families, advocates, workers and other supporters of the community social service sector, who shared a communal bar-b-que afterwards. Live entertainment was provided by the Tom Morrissey Band.
