Every year, the unions in the community social services sector approach the province and municipal councils with a request that they designate March as Community Social Services Awareness Month.
To date, the Province of British Columbia and 50 municipal councils across the province have proclaimed March as Community Social Services Awareness Month, or publicly acknowledged the contributions of community social service workers.
To date, the following councils have issued a proclamation in support of community social services:
Last year, nearly 40 councils across B.C. supported community social services month.
